Enterprise Applications

Enterprise Applications provide faculty, staff and students with applications that assist them in their day to day activities on campus. The primary goal of the Enterprise Applications Group is to provide the support required to operate the Ellucian Banner Application System for Appalachian State University. EA offers broad assistance for application operations and are responsible for determining standards and best practices, as well as application security. Responsibilities include Advancement, Financial Reporting, Human Resources and Payroll, Financial Aid and Student Business Applications.

Information Analytics

Information analytics is cross-divisional and requires effective partnerships with all Vice Chancellors, Institutional Research, Assessment and Planning (IRAP), business owners and data stewards, enterprise and distributed technical organizations, security teams, and functional offices around operational data management.

Information Security

Information Security (IS) is the most recent addition to the Information Technology Services family. Created in Spring, 2013, a search is underway for a Chief Information Security Officer to lead this unit. The Information Security team will be responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive Information Security (IS) Plan to protect the digital assets of the University community.

Infrastructure and Systems

Infrastructure and Systems includes Shared Resources, Environmental and Operational Management, Server Virtualization Management, Virtual Desktop Infrastucture, Storage and Backup Management, Disaster Recovery Planning, Enterprise Systems and Application Integration, Windows and Desktop Service, File and Print Services, Network Infrastructure and Control System, and ASU's wireless networking canopy.

IT Support Services

Our Technology Support staff is available to assist with the technology needs of faculty, staff, and students at Appalachian. Requests submitted online are routed to the appropriate IT staff who will provide support.

Project Management

ITS Project Management provides resources and services to support effective and efficient management of IT projects to meet our stakeholders' needs, assists with strategic planning initiatives, supports IT Governance, and coordinates information security awareness initiatives.

Web Services

Web Services is dedicated to maintaining and supporting central web services for the University. We provide a full range of web publishing services including website development, design, content development and design, platform training, support and maintenance, and websites for individuals.
